Lori Mirabelli is a lyrical abstract painter based in Newmarket, Ontario. She uses a personal language of form, colour and line to explore the complexities of the inner city of Toronto. Lori Mirabelli paints intuitively allowing her fascination with the hustle and bustle of the downtown core of Toronto to guide her. For Lori Mirabelli, abstract forms allow her to represent complicated relationships between individuals and social environments. Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Lori Mirabelli studied psychology and visual art at the University of Laurentian. Some of her art influences have been Gustav Klimt, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. Art is an important component of her being and this can be seen through how she translates her interpretation of normal every day life on to canvas web. She has exhibited in a number of exhibitions in Ontario. Her paintings are found in many private collections nationally and internationally.
