Ever since she was a child with brush in hand, Lois has been drawing and painting. Her artistic ability earned her admittance into the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design. For over twenty years, Lois managed her own design studio working for the textile industry in New York and New Jersey and although she did not realize it at the time, her work with top designers in the commercial world taught her skills that would be utilized later in her paintings. You can see that influence now by her careful use of color, pattern and design which particularly comes alive in her interpretation of shadows and foliage. After an idyllic vacation in the Cayman Islands in 1989, Lois decided that the island lifestyle was what she wanted. Her move there a year later changed her life. She began to paint in watercolor and was thrilled to discover that she could translate the vivid color and tropical beauty that surrounded her. Galleries soon featured her work and today her work is seen throughout the Cayman Islands including four commissioned paintings in the lobby of the Ritz Carlton and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. Her reputation for fine art was firmly established by the publication of over twenty of her images by PI Creative Art which truly introduced her to a worldwide audience. Her understanding of tropical light, landscape, and foliage has made her one of the foremost artists working in her genre today. Now living in Delray Beach, Florida, her work can be seen in Little Palm Island in the Keys, St Augustine and Delray Beach and galleries in Grand Cayman.
