Ms. Neale lives and works in St. Louis, MO with her husband and son. She is a painter who primarily works in acrylics but also experiments in multi-media, collage and chalk paints on a variety of surfaces. Her visual inspiration is sourced from the interior design and home decorating industries, specifically traditional floral wallpaper and textile patterns from the UK/Europe. Color is also another important aspect of her work, primarily drawing from pre-mixed palette swatches from hardware stores. Influences of her past work as a graphic designer can be seen in her attraction to patterns that are inherently more structured and organized than her painting process, which is much more organic and intuitive.
Ms. Neale holds a BA (Studio Art, Graphic Design) from Principia College in Elsah, IL, a MA (Painting and Drawing) from Eastern Illinois University (Charleston, IL) and an MFA in Visual Art (Painting) from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Her work is featured in corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
